ABSTRACT

The isokinetic muscle strength test and isokinetic training are considered to be one of the most important practical techniques for muscle assessment and training. This paper reviewed the specific applications of isokinetic concept in rehabilitation assessment and rehabilitation treatment in recent years, introduced the effects of isokinetic concept on neurological diseases, orthopaedic diseases and other diseases, briefly analyzed the related mechanism and summarized its advantages.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To observe the effect of external phrenic nerve electrical stimulation on respiratory function for convalescent stroke patients. Methods:From October, 2017 to July, 2018, 27 convalescent stroke patients were randomly divided into control group (n = 14) and observation group (n = 13). Both groups received routine rehabilitation, while the observation group accepted external phrenic nerve electrical stimulation additionaly. Their ventilation and respiratory muscle strength were measured before and four weeks after treatment. Results:The forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in 1st second (FEV1), peak expiratory flow (PEF), maximal inspiratory pressure (MIP) and maximal expiratory pressure (MEP) improved in both groups after treatment (t > 5.075, Z = -3.366, P < 0.001), and improved more in FVC, FEV1, PEF and MIP in the observation group than in the control group (t > 0.921, Z = -2.746, P < 0.05). Conclusion:External phrenic nerve electrical stimulation can improve ventilation and inspiratory muscle strength for convalescent stroke patients.

ABSTRACT

@#Physical performance is an ability with which the sufferers of lumbar disc herniation(LDH) achieve daily work and basic physical activity, including daily activities(such as the diverting movement from standing to sitting),functioning state of nerves and muscles, dailyworking ability and walking gait, etc.;abilities of body performance relative to pains, such as walking ten meters with loads,sit-stand test and Tread mill walk, etc. Most of current rehabilitation evaluation may be influenced by the subjective factors of the examinee or the examiner, but intelligent device for energy expenditure and activity(IDEEA) may be helpful to evaluate physical performance of the LDH patients in a complete,quantity-fixing,systematic and dynamic way.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the clinical significance of the footprints and lateral X-rays in weight loading in evaluating the rehabilitation of talipes valgus in the children with cerebral palsy. Methods One hundred footprints of 56 children who were cerebral palsy with talipes valgus in the hospital-community-family-based rehabilitation mode were divided into light, middle and heavy types, and they were counted with two footprint-based approaches, and the two approaches were compared with chi-square criterion, and the dependability on consequence of the footprint and lateral X-rays in weight loading were analyzed. Results One hundred feet evaluated by the method of footprint were flatfeet radically, and the occurrence of flatfoot evaluated by three define lines were 11,57,32,respectively,and evaluated by footprint ratio were 6,7,87,respectively,but the degrees were different with two footprint-based approaches. There was a close correlation between two footprint-based approaches and lateral X-rays in weight loading. Conclusions Flat foot caused by talipes valgus can be evaluated by footprint in static state, while the development of bones of foot and the constitution of instep can be monitored on the lateral X-rays in weight loading.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the clinical application and significance of polymerase chain reactio n(PCR) in checking human cytomegalovirus (HCMV)in cerebral palsy children. Methods Collecting urine and serum of 56 cerebral palsy (CP) children, using PCR to detec t CMV DNA from urine, isolate CMV from urine, and indirect enzyme-linked immuno so rbent assay(ELISA) detecting CMV IgM、IgG of serum. Results In 56 cases,53.6%cases were CMV DNA positive, there were 9 cases CMV isolation,o bserving CMV characteristic cytopathic effect (CPE) and the positive value of se rum CMV IgM、IgG was 12.5%,37.5% respectively. The positive value in isolation o f the virus and CMV IgM was 100%,10% corresponding with that of CMV DNA.Comp ared the 2 former with the latter,it was significant(P0.05).Conclusions Using PCR can detect CMV DNA from CP children with CMV infection quickly. It can apply in detecting CMV in CP and provide credible evidence for intervention as f ar as early in children with CP.
